What's Happening

  BREAKING NEWS!!!

From the Principal's Office:
Good Afternoon, Middle School Parents and Families!

Happy Tuesday and welcome back from the long weekend. I hope that everyone was able to get out and enjoy the beautiful weather on Saturday and Sunday before it got nasty yesterday!

Dress Code:

Considering how cold it was this morning, it will probably seem ridiculous to have a conversation about dress code, but this is the time of year when the weather usually warms up and we start to see kids pushing the boundaries of our Policy Book when it comes to the kinds of clothes that they are wearing. Please note the following regulations regarding student dress code and keep an eye on the clothes that your child is wearing to school.

  1. Shorts, dresses, skirts or other similar clothing shall fully cover the student’s leg to mid-thigh (a good way to check is to have your student hold their hands down at their side.If clothing coves their legs down to their finger tips from the font, back and sides, they are probably OK).
  2. Students will not wear inappropriately sheer, light or low cut clothing (e.g. midriffs, halter tops, backless clothing, tube tops, garments made of fishnet, mesh, or similar material muscle tops, etc.) that bare or expose traditionally private parts of the body including, but not limited to, the stomach, buttocks, back and breasts. Pants with exceptionally large holes and pajama bottoms are inappropriate.
  3. Students will not wear tank tops or other similar clothing with straps narrower than 1.5 inches in width.

If a student is deemed to be in violation of the dress code, they will be required to change into appropriate clothing or make arrangements for appropriate clothing to be brought to the school. If no arrangements for appropriate clothing can be made, the student may be sent home. A student who repeatedly or willfully violates the dress code policy could be subject to suspension.  In general, I have found that if a student is unsure about the clothes they are wearing, it is best to leave it at home.  If you have questions about our dress code, please don’t hesitate to give me a call.

End of Quarter 3 Coming up!

It’s hard to believe, but we are FAST approaching the end of the quarter (less than 3 full weeks).  Teachers are working very hard to wrap up our 3rd quarter curriculum and help students pass their classes. As I have mentioned in the past, we are offering the kids many opportunities to receive help and to complete required assignments. If you would like more information on any of these resources, please feel free to contact me or any of your child’s teachers (970-336-8610).

Thanks and have a fantastic short week!

Sincerely,

Jason Taylor

                                          STUDENT DROP OFF
Parents please utilize the drop off lanes when dropping off students unless you are planning to walk them to their building. Students are being dropped off in the parking lot which is creating a dangerous situation as they walk across the lanes of traffic. If you are walking your child to their school, please use the cross walk.
