What's Happening

BREAKING NEWS!!!

From the Principal's Office:
Good afternoon, Middle School Parents and Families!

Happy Monday and welcome back from the weekend!

Valentine’s Day Dance (Friday, Feb 15th from 6-8 p.m. in HS Cafeteria):
This Friday (Feb 15th) we will be hosting a Valentine’s Day Dance from 6-8 p.m.  Please note that this dance will be taking place in the HS cafeteria.  As with all dances, attendance will be dependent on academic eligibility (failing 2 or more classes results in a student being “ineligible”). We will be notifying students tomorrow if they are ineligible for the dance. If you have any questions about the dance, please contact the MS front office at 970-336-8610.

Weekly Phone Call Identifying Students Failing Classes:
I have noticed throughout 3rd quarter that a larger number of middle school students are appearing on our weekly eligibility list. To help keep parents informed on the academic status of their children, I send out a weekly phone call to the parents of every student who is failing 1 or more classes. Unfortunately, I have discovered that some of our families are not receiving these calls because our contact data is either out of date, or incorrect.  If your son or daughter is (or has been) failing classes and you have not been receiving my weekly call, please contact the MS front office at 970-336-8610 so that we can ensure that your information is correct in the system.

As we work to bring these students’ grades up, I want to thank you in advance for partnering with us in the academic success of our students. Please encourage your child to turn their work in on time. If they are struggling to get all of their work done, encourage them to take advantage of lunch/after school homework help. If they are struggling with specific content, please encourage them to go directly to the teacher. They are often available to help students before/after school or at lunch.

Handicapped Parking in Parking Lot:
I have been receiving some complaints that vehicles are parking in our handicapped zones without proper licensing. Not only is this illegal, but it also poses a tremendous inconvenience to those families who truly need to use those spots. I have contacted the police and asked that they swing by when they can to check on cars illegally using the handicapped zones. Cars parked illegally run the risk of receiving a ticket. Thank you for your help with this.

Now's the time to step up, sound off, and Vote for MR. Ruby FOR NORTHERN COLORADO’S FAVORITE EDUCATOR: TEACHER TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 2019

You can vote once an hour, so be sure to set that reminder on your smartphone, or wearable, so that you don't miss an opportunity

                                     STUDENT DROP OFF

Parents please utilize the drop off lanes when dropping off students unless you are planning to walk them to their building. Students are being dropped off in the parking lot which is creating a dangerous situation as they walk across the lanes of traffic. If you are walking your child to their school, please use the cross walk.
